This book is truly an unforgettable story of courage and love.  Susan is diagnosed with ALS.  She suspected the diagnosis for a while based on her symptoms, but when the verdict finally comes down, she decides to live instead of just die, to make memories with the kids she will never see grow up, and to enjoy these last days.  But this book isn’t just that story.  In this last leg of her life, she reconciles the things that have shaped her – both good and bad – and makes peace with all that was, wasn’t and never will be.

This book seemed like it was the perfect prescription for a tear jerker.  Certainly, all the elements are there.  Instead it was a story of inspiration.  Day by day, Susan loses control of different muscles in her body.  She can’t fight it, so she accepts it with grace.  And then decides to chronicles this story by tap, tap, tapping it out with her one functioning digit – on her cell phone.  Her year of living fully is truly that.  She makes memories for her family, and enjoys the time.

I have to say that I absolutely loved this book.  It has touched me in so many different ways and made me think about my daily life – how many times I complained about the littlest things.  Yet Susan makes the best of it all, knowing that the worst is still coming.  With every single chapter, her condition deteriorates, but yet her spirit rises.   Everywhere she goes, she makes a difference, especially with those she loves.   One cannot help but be moved by it all.

This is a book that I recommend for everyone!!!!
